Mexico to Increase Phone Service Rates

MEXICO CITY —
Increases of 52% in Mexican telephone service and 42% in domestic long distance rates will take effect today, the Excelsior news service said.
Charges for installations, contracts for new service and changes in service will go up 70%, it said.
International long distance rates were not increased, it said.
