Certron Corp., the Anaheim maker and distributor of audio and video recording materials, announced net income of $333,000 for fiscal 1986, ended Oct. 31.

For fiscal 1985, Certron reported a loss of $133,000 after the costs of closing the company’s Anaheim audiocassette plant, which totaled more than $500,000.

Sales for fiscal 1986 were $25.9 million, down slightly from $26.8 million a year earlier. The company would not release fourth-quarter results for fiscal 1986.

Company Treasurer Terry Frisco attributed the profit increase to the overhead the company saves by importing its audio and video tapes from Asia. The firm closed another of its plants, a plastic molding facility in Anaheim, earlier this year. A $123,000 charge related to the plant closing was included in the fiscal 1986 results.
