The World : Chernobyl Evacuees Home
Residents of the Byelorussian village of Gden, evacuated in April after the disaster at the nearby Chernobyl nuclear power plant that contaminated their community, have returned home, the official Soviet news agency Tass reported. The residents of Gden are among about 1,500 evacuees who have returned recently to 12 villages in the Gomel district of Byelorussia, Tass said.
