A ferry carrying 250 passengers arrived at a port north of Beirut two days after an Israeli naval patrol ordered it to sail back to Cyprus. The ferry Sunny Boat reached Juniyah, 12 miles north of Beirut, on schedule. Israeli officials had said the sea connection was being canceled because it was being used to transport Palestinian terrorists to Lebanon. Another ferry from Cyprus was halted Saturday but was allowed to proceed when the captain said that only crewmen were aboard. “Washington has used its good offices with Israel to lift the Israeli naval blockade,” Lebanon’s television quoted government sources as saying.
