Israeli nuclear technician Mordechai Vanunu, accused of spying and treason for leaking atomic secrets to the British press, has begun a hunger strike in his Israeli prison, his brother reported. “He began his hunger strike on Sunday because of the conditions under which he is living. I am referring to conditions that are actually subconditions,” Asher Vanunu told Israeli state television. He said his 31-year-old brother was isolated in a closed room 23 hours a day and has no contact with the outside world.
