Placentia : Suspect in Gold Theft Enters Not-Guilty Plea
- Share via
Gerald Michael Stafford, 30, a suspect in the theft of $250,000 in gold from a Placentia dental supply house, pleaded not guilty in Municipal Court on Thursday to charges of burglary, kidnaping, armed robbery and grand theft.
Stafford was arrested Monday night, a day after the gold was stolen, when he stepped out of a rented limousine in Garden Grove. A second suspect escaped, but most of the gold was found in the trunk of the car. The kidnaping charge stems from the alleged abduction of a secretary who worked at the dental firm.
Stafford’s bail was set at $50,000. He is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing Jan. 21.
