Semtech Earns $41,000 in Its Third Quarter

Semtech said it earned $41,000 in the third quarter ended Nov. 1. In the same quarter last year, the company lost $195,000.
Sales fell 20.5% to $2.9 million, but the Newbury Park semiconductor maker said cuts in its manufacturing costs improved its profit margins.
For the first nine months of its fiscal year, Semtech earned $5,000, contrasted with an $888,000 loss a year earlier. Sales fell 8.0% to $8.8 million.
