Stripes Beats N.Z. in First Race

Stars & Stripes led from start to finish in strong winds today and whipped New Zealand by 1 minute, 20 seconds to take a 1-0 lead in their best-of-seven America’s Cup challenger final series.

The U.S. yacht ended a 28-race winning streak for New Zealand, whose two losses in 39 races both have been against Stars & Stripes.
