Venezuelan Soldier Kills Mates

CARACAS —
A 19-year-old private in Venezuela’s counterinsurgency corps opened fire on fellow soldiers early this morning, killing six of them and wounding three others.
The government-owned Venezolana de Television said Johnny Jose Gomez Romero began shooting at his companions inside the barracks at Cumana, 250 miles east of Caracas. Gomez Romero left the scene after the incident but was later captured. No motive was given for the shooting.
