Sandra J. Edson has been named executive director and chief executive of the American Assn. of Critical-Care Nurses, based in Newport Beach.

Edson was executive director of the American Society for Quality Control in Milwaukee from 1982 to 1986. She also has worked in Denver as an accountant and as vice president of an executive search company.

The American Assn. of Critical-Care Nurses is a professional organization engaged in educational programming, research and the establishment of nursing standards.
