The stepson of Soviet dissident Andrei D. Sakharov has received permission to travel to Moscow with a group of U.S. scholars to see his mother, Yelena Bonner, and Sakharov, a spokesman for the group said today.

Alexei Semyonov’s visit will be the first time that relatives from the West have visited with Sakharov and Bonner since their exile to Gorky ended in December. Semyonov, 30, a computer specialist, last saw his mother in Milan, Italy, in June as she returned to Moscow after traveling to the West for heart-bypass surgery. He emigrated to the United States in 1978, and this will be his first trip back to Russia.
