What Goes Down (Under), Must Come Back Up

In answer to Ray Butler’s questions, I have never sailed a 12-meter boat, but I can identify with the experience--an experience which began in a nine-foot sailing dinghy. Sailing, or more specifically, yacht racing, was the sport of my youth. I live to race sailboats, the bigger the better. Ray, don’t even suggest that The Times stop covering yacht racing, particularly the America’s Cup.

With respect to the second question, I understand the elimination process. It’s the same for the NFL or NHL and a lot less boring to me.

Finally, I am not tired of the attention this event generates; I read every word. What I am tired of is the endless NBA season that seems to go on forever. To each his own sport, I guess.
