KHAN YUNIS, Occupied Gaza Strip —
Israeli troops fired in the air and used tear gas to disperse a Palestinian student demonstration in this Arab town Saturday, Palestinian sources said.
The sources did not report any injuries, but said that the students smashed the gate of a local post office and broke into the building.
Palestinian sources said the students were demonstrating against the decision to deport Mohammed Ahlan, 23, who according to military authorities is a leader of the Palestine Liberation Organization. Ahlan is appealing the order.
