Ethnic Issues at Woodbridge

Share

I read your article (Jan. 15) on my school, Woodbridge High, and found that it portrayed Woodbridge in a very poor light.

According to your article, Woodbridge is experiencing “an ethnic gap,” a statement I consider to be untrue. Your article also suggests that at Woodbridge all white students keep together, all blacks keep together, and all Asians keep together.

I am a white Englishman and have friends who come from all over the world: China, India, Iran, Vietnam, Korea and the U. S. All of us get along very well, as do other students from different ethnic groups. I feel that the opinions expressed by the students you interviewed are not representative, and it seems to me that they have no idea what is happening at the school. How a student can compare Woodbridge’s so-called “racial” problems with South Africa’s problems is totally beyond me.

I find your article on Woodbridge High School misrepresents the views of most of the students.
