‘Mom-to-Be Wins in Court’

Re “Mom-to-Be Wins in Court” (Jan. 22):

Shame on Sue Ann Yasger for driving in the car-pool lane and on Judge Rendell Wilkinson for dismissing her ticket.

I’m sure that the situation must have been amusing in the courtroom. But how amusing is it to the thousands of commuters, including pregnant women, who are not violating the law? Where is the “interest of justice” that Judge Wilkinson cited in dismissing the case?

Since Mrs. Yasger considers herself and her 5-month-old fetus to be two people, has she paid double admission to movies or double the fare on airplanes? Has she gone to court to insist that she should?

I hope that the highway patrol continues to give citations for violations in the car-pool lane and that other judges do not view the case with such humor.
