Reporter Annette Lopez-Munoz, who was removed from her White House beat by the government-controlled Radio Marti for breaking a tradition that bans federal employees from asking questions at a presidential news conference, resigned. In a letter to Charles Z. Wick, director of the U.S. Information Agency, she said that Richard Carlson, director of the Voice of America, “reprimanded me with a rude and abusive phone call.” Radio Marti is beamed mainly to Cuba.
