Richmond, Va.-based A. H. Robins Co., the drug company that has been in bankruptcy proceedings since August, 1985, said its 1986 earnings rose 8% while sales increased 12%. For the fourth quarter, the firm’s profit was up 94%. The company attributed its 1986 sales and earnings growth to Robitussin cough medicine, Dimetapp cold and allergy products, Micro-K Extencaps, a prescription potassium chloride supplement and generic products by its Elkins-Sinn unit.
