Israel, China Reportedly Ready to Establish Ties

JERUSALEM —
China appears ready to establish official ties with Israel in exchange for a role in a proposed international Middle East peace conference, the Israeli newspaper Davar reported Wednesday.
The paper said that Avraham Tamir, director general of the Foreign Ministry, secretly met Chinese representatives in Paris last week for talks on the peace conference and prospects of Chinese-Israeli ties.
