West Hollywood : Funds for Senior Housing OKd

A nonprofit housing corporation recently established by the City Council has appropriated funds to buy property for a senior citizens residential project.

The city Community Housing Corp. has committed $5,000 as a deposit toward the purchase of a 7,500-square-foot tract in the 800 block of San Vicente Boulevard.

The move was the first major step taken by the corporation, which was established last year by the council to finance new residential developments and the rehabilitation of existing housing. The council provided the corporation with $100,000 for an administrative budget and $250,000 to develop housing programs.
