Representatives of Britain’s striking telephone repairmen reached a tentative contract agreement to end a two-week strike that has disrupted telephone service, union officials said. The tentative agreement with British Telecom, the nationwide telephone company, is subject to ratification by the National Communication Union’s 110,000 telephone engineers. The pact calls for a 12.75% pay increase over two years, compared with the repairmen’s original request for a 10% increase in 1987.
