The Cook County Board of Commissioners barred a doctor who is suffering from AIDS from clinical duties and direct contact with patients at Cook County Hospital in Chicago. A spokesman for the American Civil Liberties Union, which is representing the doctor, said it was considering legal action. The unidentified doctor was suspended by the county board a week ago, but reinstated by the hospital’s executive medical committee Wednesday.
