Gardena : Hearing on Swap Meets Set
The City Council scheduled a public hearing for Feb. 24 to consider an extension of the city’s moratorium on new swap meets.
The 45-day moratorium was approved Jan. 13, prompted by numerous applications for swap meets. City officials expressed concern over the potential for increased traffic, litter and crime since the city has no swap meet regulations.
The public hearing will consider extending the moratorium for an additional 10 months while a study is conducted on zoning controls.
