E.J. Szkaradek, 64, Morehouse President, Dies After Illness

Edward J. Szkaradek, president and chief executive officer at Morehouse Industries, died Monday evening at St. Joseph Hospital in Orange. He was 64 and had been ill for the past year.

Szkaradek, who joined the company in September, 1973, as its president, was responsible for the development of many of the company’s products, which are used in chemical processing industries.

He had also served as chief executive officer at the Lionel Pacific Division of Lionel Corp. in Gardena from 1963 to 1969 and as assistant to the chairman of Cordon International in Torrance from 1969 to 1973.

A spokesman for Morehouse Industries said that no successor had been named, but that the board will “meet very soon” to discuss a replacement for Szkaradek.

Services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Saddleback Chapel in Tustin.
