Iraq Won’t Hit Cities for 2 Weeks

Iraq announced a two-week halt starting Thursday to air raids on Iranian towns and cities. But it said it would be free to launch fresh strikes in the Persian Gulf War if Iran hit Iraqi residential areas or attacked Iraqi territory.
Today’s announcement, read over Baghdad Radio, said the move followed an appeal by Baghdad-based Iranian opposition leader Massoud Rajavi to Iraqi President Saddam Hussein.
