Admiral Nominated to Serve Joint Chiefs
President Reagan has nominated Rear Adm. Jerry O. Tuttle to be director of one of the staff organizations serving the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the Pentagon said Wednesday.
Tuttle, if confirmed by the Senate, would receive a third star and the rank of vice admiral. He would assume control of the Joint Chiefs of Staff office responsible for command, control and communications systems.
Tuttle, 52, is a native of Hatfield, Ind., who is currently serving as the deputy and chief of staff to the commander of the U.S. Atlantic Fleet in Norfolk, Va.
