WHITE PLAINS, N.Y. — The family of a woman who died last February after taking a cyanide-laced Tylenol capsule filed a $94.5-million lawsuit Thursday against Johnson & Johnson and A&P; for alleged negligence.
The suit, filed in state Supreme Court by the family of Diane Elsroth, named Johnson & Johnson and its McNeil Consumer Products Co. subsidiary. A&P; was named because the bottle of Extra-Strength Tylenol capsules was purchased in its Bronxville, N.Y., grocery store.
Elsroth, 23, died Feb. 8, 1986, in Yonkers at her boyfriend’s home. The death is unsolved but investigations remain open.
