Heineken Kidnapers Get 11-Year Sentences

AMSTERDAM — A Dutch court Thursday sentenced two men to 11 years’ imprisonment for their part in the 1983 kidnaping of beer magnate Freddie Heineken in which an $11-million ransom was paid.
Judge Geo Bodewes told Willem Holleeder, 28, and Cor van Hout, 29, that they were guilty of blackmail and unlawful detention of the worst kind by kidnaping Heineken and his driver, Ab Doderer, in Amsterdam in November, 1983.
The two were brought to trial here last month after a protracted legal battle to prevent their extradition from France following their arrest in Paris three years ago.
