Some Dunks, Pro-Dinks

Your articles on “dinks” in View turned my stomach (“Hang Onto Your Reeboks--Here Comes a New Baby-Boomer Moniker” by Nikki Finke, Feb. 8). Although the economic, consumer facility of married couples without children might be a fit subject for your business section, you do your circulation a disservice by engaging in yet another celebration of hungry, selfish trendiness, such as commenced with the recent national coronation of yuppies.
How many BMWs a couple can afford by bypassing parenting should not be news for any publication but the Self-Centered Monthly. The only reference to anything socially conscious I read in both the articles was that one half of one couple had been involved in a presidential campaign. Surely, there are “baby boomers” out there who live for more than money and possessions. Make that your news.
