The Japanese airline asked for three Boeing 747-300 jumbo jets and four 767-300s and upgraded an earlier order in a deal totaling $575 million, Boeing said. The orders include the substitution of two 767-300s--longer planes--for two previously ordered 767-200 models of the wide-body, two-engine jet. The 767-300s are to be delivered between September, 1987, and June, 1988, while one 747 is for delivery in December and the two others next year. Three of the 767s and one of the 747s are for international use, while the other planes are for domestic use, Boeing, the world’s largest commercial aircraft maker, added.
