The Pentagon, more than halfway through its screening of active-duty military personnel for AIDS, has identified about 2,100 men and women who have been exposed to the disease, knowledgeable sources said. The results, when added to those from testing of recruits, indicate the 17-month screening program has now found more than 3,000 people who tested positive for exposure. The test cannot predict whether an individual will contract the disease.
