2 Palestinians Get Life for Killing of Israeli Soldier
From Reuters
JERUSALEM —
An Israeli military court sentenced two Palestinians from the occupied West Bank to life imprisonment Monday for murdering a hitchhiking Israeli soldier after they offered him a ride in their car.
The court found Abdel Latif Ismail Shakir and Alifu Musbakh Shakir guilty of strangling 19-year-old Akiva Shaltiel in 1985 after he accepted their offer of a lift near Tel Aviv. A third Palestinian accused of involvement in the killing is being tried separately.
