A federal jury in Chicago convicted attorney John Ward of paying a cash bribe to a Traffic Court judge in the Operation Greylord investigation of corruption in the Cook County Court system. Ward paid a $500 bribe to Judge John H. McCollom in February, 1982, in exchange for a favorable sentencing for Ward’s client, who had been charged with drunken driving, prosecutors said.
