Jurors began deliberations Thursday in the case of a teen-ager who is accused of killing the parents of actor Patrick Duffy.

Defendant Kenneth A. Miller blamed Sean Wentz for shooting Terrence and Marie Duffy in their Boulder bar on Nov. 18, but Wentz testified that Miller did the shooting.

Wentz also is charged in the deaths and is scheduled to go on trial next month. Both teen-agers are charged with deliberate homicide, robbery and assault.

Jefferson County District Judge Frank Davis told jurors they could find Miller guilty of deliberate homicide if they believed he shot the Duffys. But Miller may also be found guilty under Montana’s accountability law if he aided or abetted Wentz, the judge said.

The 19-year-old janitors told conflicting stories about what occurred the night of the killings.

Neither Patrick Duffy, a star of the television series “Dallas,” nor his sister, Seattle Police Lt. Joanne Hunt, attended the trial.
