Yugoslavia’s Grega Benedik edged teammate Bojan Krizaj to win the final men’s World Cup slalom race of the season, but Krizaj’s second-place finish was enough to give him the overall slalom title before 15,000 fans at Sarajevo, Yugoslavia.

Benedik had a two-heat time of 1 minute 33.12 seconds to 1:33.38 form Krizaj. Didier Bouvet of France was third in 1:33.59.

Krizaj’s finished with 105 points for the season. Sweden’s Ingemar Stenmark was second with 96, and Armin Bittner of West Germany was third at 78.
