Alien Inmates
A headline in The Times (March 17) read: “INS Initiates Plan to Deport Aliens Held in County Jail.”
The article goes on to say the illegals would be deported only after serving their sentences. It also states that the state prisons contain 7,000 illegals who will be deported after serving their sentence. My arithmetic tells me that this state alone will spend millions of dollars by insisting on punishment before deportation. Why?
Are we building more prisons because we insist on punishing illegals who commit crimes before we deport them?
What price punishment? Sounds like we are really punishing dear old John Q. Taxpayer!
