The steering committee of the outlawed Solidarity union called on workers today for a “decisive” strike against the latest price increases in Poland.

The strike call was endorsed by union founder Lech Walesa, who said the date of the strike will not be set until organizers can put out pamphlets to coordinate the effort. Staple food prices went up Sunday by amounts ranging from 10% to 25%.
