CPC International sold its South African subsidiary.

The company said it sold Robertsons Ltd. to a consortium of European and South African investors at an undisclosed price. The Englewood Cliffs, N.J.-based food products company said Robertsons accounted for less than 2% of its worldwide revenue and that the divestiture would have little effect on CPC’s earnings. The unit has two manufacturing plants in South Africa, one in Prospecton and another in Alrode, and an administrative office in Durban. Most of Robertsons’ sales are from spices and household insecticides.
