Spectacles

Share

I started wearing glasses when I was in kindergarten. As the only kid in the school with them, I was the butt of kid-cruel razzing and tittering. Over the years I’ve watched spectacles evolve from a stigma to a fashion statement.

This week I visited my ophthalmologist to learn, after half a century, my sight has improved to the point I no longer have to wear them. I’ll spare the “not older, better” chestnut, but life, indeed IS a celebration!
