From Reuters
LIMA, Peru —
Maoist guerrillas set off dynamite at the Lima Hipodromo, one of Latin America’s biggest race tracks, killing one thoroughbred horse and injuring four others, Eduardo Villaran, president of the Peruvian Jockey Club, said Monday.
Villaran said that three rebels entered the track during Sunday’s races, intruded into the restricted stables area, tied up keepers and threw dynamite sticks into horse stalls. Two of the youths were arrested, police said.
