The Calgary-based carrier will pay about $1.6 billion for the Boeing 767-300ER airplanes and options on eight additional planes. The extended range (ER)plane has a fuselage 21 feet longer than the 767-200 version, which went into service in late 1982, and a range of 6,600 miles with increased passenger capacity and cargo room.
