Traffic Fatalities Increase in China

PEKING —
China’s death toll on roads increased last year and congestion worsened in cities as traffic volume grew, its Public Security Ministry said.
A total of 42,237 people were killed in road accidents, 3.25% higher than the 1985 total of about 40,860.
