Nancy Reagan called Alaska from the White House to give her anti-drug pitch to a state where home use of marijuana is legal, but few heard the First Lady’s speech because of a telecommunications glitch. Alaskans may legally possess up to 4 ounces of marijuana in their homes. Mrs. Reagan made her comments during a state Senate hearing on reinstituting criminal penalties for the home use. The call was to go to teleconference network offices throughout the state, but all that was heard was a buzzing sound.
