Officials said it will be at least several months until work can begin on cleaning up the debris from last month’s massive rock slide that closed a corner of Yosemite Valley. “We talked to U.S. Geological Survey people and they have determined the area is still much too unstable to begin clearing,” said Lisa Dapprich, a park spokeswoman. On March 11, a major avalanche dropped more than 600,000 cubic yards of rocks, dirt and trees in the corner of the scenic valley.
