The World : Israelis Raid S. Lebanon
Israeli helicopters raided a village in southern Lebanon, killing three civilians and wounding five other people, Lebanese police said. The air attack came hours after a guerrilla force ambushed Israeli soldiers with a rocket and machine-gun attack in southern Lebanon, killing two Israelis, a Tel Aviv military spokesman said. The guerrillas claimed they also killed seven Israeli soldiers in an attack on a truck bringing reinforcements, but this was not confirmed by Israel. The Israeli copters fired missiles at two cars in Qantarah, 15 miles east of Tyre, and among the dead was a 5-year-old child, police said.
