Hundreds of Christians Baptized in Jordan River

DAGANIA, Israel —
Hundreds of Christian pilgrims from around the world waded into the Jordan River on Wednesday to be baptized after the example of Jesus Christ, who the Bible says was baptized by the prophet John in the river nearly 2,000 years ago.
The white-robed pilgrims came from as far away as the Philippines and Mexico to celebrate Easter in the Holy Land.
