Protesters Warm Up for Nuclear Demonstration
Associated Press
LAS VEGAS —
Forty protesters conducted a peaceful anti-nuclear demonstration at the Nevada Test Site Thursday in a prelude to a Good Friday demonstration which is expected to draw between 200 and 300 people.
Organizers say approximately 50 protesters plan to commit acts of non-violent civil disobedience and risk arrest in Friday’s demonstration. No one was arrested Thursday.
The event is part of the annual Lenten Desert Experience, an Easter-season protest against nuclear testing.
