The Seoul Olympic Organizing Committee (SLOOC) said Thursday that corporate backing for the 1988 Olympic Games has exceeded the estimated $135 million the ’84 Los Angeles Games raised through sponsorship, supply and licensing agreements.

A major part of the international backing has come through The Olympic Program (TOP), a joint worldwide marketing program of the SLOOC, the Calgary (Winter) Olympic Organizing Committee, the International Olympic Committee and the majority of National Olympic Committees.

In all, more than 120 Korean and international firms have signed as official sponsors, suppliers and licensees for the Seoul Olympics. The total value of the corporate backing is estimated at $150 million.
