A federal judge delayed for 4 1/2 months the start of the trial in Jacksonville, Fla., of accused Colombian drug lord Carlos Lehder. Federal Judge Howell Melton granted Lehder’s two lawyers about half the time they requested to prepare their case and set a September trial date. Lehder, 37, is charged with being part of a conspiracy that smuggled 3.3 tons of cocaine into north Florida and Georgia between 1978 and 1980. He was arrested Feb. 4 in Colombia.
