Temple City : ‘Granny Flats’ Prohibited
The City Council has voted to prohibit second units, known as “granny flats,” on single-family residential lots.
State law provides that second units may be placed on single-family residential lots if the additional unit is intended for the sole occupancy of one or two adults age 60 or older. Cities that object to the units must specifically prohibit them.
