Compton : Schools Firing Upheld

Share

A Los Angeles judge has ruled that former Compton Unified School District maintenance director Henry Wilson was not wrongfully terminated in May, 1983, when trustees fired him for allegedly being dishonest and using district employees and supplies to perform private services.

According to a statement issued by Supt. Ted D. Kimbrough, Superior Court Judge Warren Deering denied Wilson’s request to be reinstated even though criminal charges stemming from his employment have since been dismissed for a variety of reasons.

Judge Deering found that the civil suit “evidence and findings constituted dereliction of duty and willful conduct tending to injure the public interest,” according to the district’s statement.
